How can we improve reporting and shipping clarity on Shopify?

Hey there

My team and I met today to discuss Shopify reporting, and the general consensus was our current reporting isn’t checking all the boxes. I think we’ve found some workarounds, but it’d be great if we could figure out the below. I have a feeling the solution may just be subscribing to another add-on app, and if that’s the case, any solid recommendations would be much appreciated!

-Is there a way to save report views, so that you don’t have to add on all of the additional columns/fields every time you want to pull a report?

-Any way to add a column that lets us compare what we paid for shipping through Canada Post vs. what the customer paid?

-When we pull an .xls report, the shipping charges appear as separate rows/line items from the actual purchase details. We can match them up by pulling the postal code and comparing there, but it seems unnecessarily confusing to have separate lines for one order.

-Is there a way to pull UPCs through Shopify’s built in analytics?

If there’s a better way for me to reach out to someone for these answers, let me know and I’ll do that.

  • You can save reports in Shopify, but only at the Advanced level or above.

  • Shopify does not have any reports that show the shipping you paid.

  • Shopify only has one way to export orders through thee order list. You can create a custom report in Analytics and export those.

  • Shopify analytics do not allow you to add the barcode to any reports.
