How can you identify the theme used by a Shopify store?

Topic summary

The discussion addresses methods for identifying which theme a Shopify store uses, sparked by a question about a store called Biko.

Primary Solution:
Multiple participants recommend using dedicated Shopify theme detector tools. These online services work by analyzing a store’s URL to identify the theme name and often the version.

Recommended Tools:

  • Shopify Theme Detector (mentioned by PageFly-Richard)
  • Koala Apps’ Shopify theme detector
  • ShopScan.app (also detects installed apps)
  • Seller Center’s free detector

Process:
Simply paste the target store’s URL into any of these detection tools and click to analyze. The tool will return the theme information, making it accessible even for non-technical users.

One response includes a screenshot demonstrating the ThemeDetector.io interface, showing how these tools typically display results.

Is there a way to tell which theme a Shopify store is using? I saw a store example named Biko but it didn’t say which theme it was using. How can you tell which theme is being used?

Hi @JulesinTX

This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App, I’d like to suggest this idea:

In order to find out what Shopify theme a website is using, all you have to do is take the URL of the site you are interested in, put it in the form at the top of this page(Shopify Theme Detector
) and click “detect theme”.

Hope you find my answer helpful!

Best regards,

If you are not tech-savvy. You can try a Free Online Shopify Theme Detector from SellerCenter Paste the url of the Shopify store to it, and it’ll detect the theme and version. You can enhance the design of your Shopify store.
