I’ve reported a certain site and have yet to see any progress or feedback as to why it still exists. I will not link it here since i dont really want to advertise the site any further but:
Your own Merchant guidelines says this:
“Merchants may not use the Services to promote or condone hate or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, veteran status or other forms of discriminatory intolerance**. Merchants may not use the Services to promote or support organizations, platforms or people that: (i) promote or condone such hate; or (ii) threaten or condone violence to further a cause.”**
The “freedom” trucker convoy rolling through Canada is selling merch using Shopify. It is linked from their instagram page. They recently had a gofundme that was shut down because it violated similar policies on violence and harrassment as noted here: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/gofundme-stops-payments-1.6340526
I’ve reported their Shopify site using your merchant report form. Apparently Shopify will only reach back out if they need more info (I have not heard anything back) but I’m also questioning whether anything is actually being done.
I know you didn’t give a ■■■■ for allowing Brietbart to sell merch using your service based on “free speech” but this no longer falls under that umbrella.
So can someone from the appropriate department explain to me why this certain site hasn’t been removed when it clearly does violate your terms? (would also be happy to take this to email or whatever is necessary).
