im trying to add a full background picture in my footer, i watched some videos and looked through here, still not sure how.

This is possible to add image in the footer. To do this you have to upload the image in Shopify and then you have to link it up with the footer by CSS coding.If you are not comfortable with CSS coding then it can break your theme. I suggest if you hire a developer it will be great.
