I have a QR code with a linked web address - mybrand.com/btrsnc92 - thats been printed on garments for years and I need to add that page to my shopify site, but I can’t figure out how to add a fully custom address to my sitemap. The best I’ve been able to get is - mybrand.com/collection/customtexthere, or mybrand.com/pages/customtexthere, etc . Is it possible to do what I am attempting within Shopify? Please help.
Hello @stssso
Your best option is to setup a URL redirect from /btrsnc92 → /pages/btrsnc92 by goint to Online Store → Navigation → View URL redirects. With this solution your old QR Codes will still work correctly in your Shopify store.
For the future I suggest you only use dynamic QR Codes in your printed material. Dynamic QR Codes allow you to fully change the destination of a QR Code even after it’s been printed so that in cases like this you would not have to bin thousands of printed materials with your old QRs.
To generate dynamic QR Codes for your Shopify store I suggest you try our app Releasit QR Code Generator which allows you to generate fully customizable dynamic QR Codes that you can link to anything in your store (products, pages, collection, prefilled carts and checkouts, and a lot more!)
You can install the app for free from the Shopify App Store here: https://apps.shopify.com/releasit-qr-codes-generator
Hope this helps, if you have any doubts or questions about this don’t hesitate to ask!
