I am brand new to Shopify and can not figure out how to upload more photos for my product. I have gone to my admin and Products and selected edit but it is only allowing me to edit the variants.

If you’re looking to upload more photos to your products, you can do so directly on the product page. You mentioned that you only see the option to edit the variants photos, have you tried adding the photos to the Media section right under the Description section? We have a guide on how to to this via our Help Center here.
Since you’re just starting out, I recommend checking out The Official Shopify Tutorial YouTube video. In this Shopify tutorial, we will show you everything you need to know to build a Shopify store from start to finish. You can view the description to jump to sections that you are stuck on, and view the available resources as they go into more detail.
