Hi Everyone. I’m on the struggle bus and need your help on how to add products to a sub-menu. I have created a drop-down menu under the main menu item titled ‘Baby Gear’ One of the submenu items is Strollers and Car Seats. I am using Dsers to import products. How do I add a product to a collection sub-menu during the import process? I’ve been digging for an answer for two days and I’m very frustrated and confused. I hope the Shopify Community can help me.
Topic summary
Main issue: How to place products into a specific sub-menu (e.g., “Strollers and Car Seats” under “Baby Gear”) during import via DSers.
Proposed solution: You cannot add products directly to a menu item. Use collections and link those collections to the sub-menu.
Steps:
- Create collections matching the sub-menu items (e.g., “Strollers” and “Car Seats”).
- During the DSers import, assign each product to the appropriate collection(s).
- In Online Store > Navigation, link each sub-menu item to its corresponding collection.
Outcome/status: A single, clear approach was provided; the responder states this is the only way to have products appear under sub-menus. The original poster has not confirmed success. No images or code are involved. The discussion appears open but with a concrete action plan.
Hello @Jen1_23
We suggest creating Strollers and Car Seat collections and adding products to those collections while importing, then linking your collection to respective submenu items. This is the only way you can add products under the submenus.
