Hi, @AAli
Congratulations on your new business adventure!
Even though you are dropshipping, you still want to approach this as a traditional business, just as you would if you had a physical storefront. Thus, you want to provide the best customer service possible and make that clear from the start. Some policies you can use via the template provided to you under Settings > Policies. When setting your return and shipping policies, however, we generally advise having a satisfaction guarantee. This doesn’t mean you will accept any returns. You can set a 30-day return period if the product is defective in any way. Or, if there was an issue with their order.
When accepting returns, you will accept them to your physical location, not the suppliers. Generally, your supplier won’t accept returns unless the product is broken or they make an error, in which you can handle separately. When the customer returns the product to you, you can use this product for photoshoots, or dispose of it as you wish. You can even choose to allow your customer to keep the products s sometimes it can be more costly to ship them back.
When it comes to your legal name, while we can’t give specific legal advice, most users use their store name as the legal name. This is something you would need to decide. Have you considered altering your domain to match your product name? If you have a one-product store it would make sense for your domain to match the product name. It would then be an easy choice if you decide to be the legal name of your business.
Moving on to your discounts, this is a great strategy! Well done. If this is only offered to newsletter subscribers you will need to first decide what newsletter app you’re going to use. For example, if you use Shopify Email, you can set up your discount under the Discount section of your admin, and have Shopify Email automatically ship that newsletter to your new subscribers. We have a great help doc with full details and instructions here.
When it comes to finding a reputable supplier, you want to make sure they have been in operation for at least 2 years, have good reviews, and have good communication when you contact them. We also recommend you purchase the product for yourself to test the shipping speed and the product itself. You can then use this product to create your own content for social media and your store!
Since you are new, I recommend also taking some time to go through our Dropshipping 101 course. It is completely free and will provide you with all the information and tips you need to succeed!
