I am using the empire theme and have looked at other posts that reference changing/adding a line of code above “” however, I do not have that in my theme.liquid code. Not sure what to do and help is very appreciated.

I am looking to change the white background on the main search bar as well as the white background on the product page’s sort by options.

Please navigate to Online store => Themes => Edit code:
Find the file theme.css and add this code in the end of file:

background: #473936;
color: #fae2c8;
}
Result:
Bonus: For the blue highlight, we can’t change the highlight color (when you hover) of a select tag.
