How do I change the color of my Debut theme's Collection list?

Hi,

I have the debut theme on my store and was trying to change the Collection list on the front page to the colour red (by amending the code in the scss.liquid section)

I was unable to change it, and now the store is not running properly and keep getting various error messages, the latest of which is below.
