Thank you for getting in touch. Could you tell me more about why you’re wanting to make your site visibile to US-based customers only, please?
You can restrict orders to customers based only in the United States through your shipping zones, and only creating rates for a single country. This means customers based outside of the USA will not be able to complete checkout when using a non-US shipping address.
However, if you do wish to go a step further and prevent anyone from outside of the United States from even viewing the website, then you can use an app such as Easy Country Blocker to do this. I would say that this is usually not necessary unless you have a specific reason to block visitors from a certain country (e.g. you’re receiving a high number of fraudulent orders from customers in one country in particular), but this app can help you if this is what you want to do.
If you’re looking to expand your shipping to outside of the USA in future, I’d recommend leaving your store open to all visitors so international customers can at least view your storefront and become familiar with your products.
