Shopify has wrongfully closed my shopify payments account after 7 years. They have randomly suggested that I sell “financial and investment brokerage products”. My business name is Primetime Brokerage which is a LOGISTICS company, not investments. I teach and sell courses on shopify. I have explained this numerous times since October 2025 and keep getting the run around. I don’t know if its a language barrier or what, but this isn’t right and needs to be fixed ASAP because it has cost me to lose so much business since then! I’m trying to make this right due to longevity, but i’ll leave if it cant be fixed.
What courses do you teach and sell?
Business name and selling courses doesn’t sound much like a logistics company to me, but hey it’s your show…
If you read the terms, they explicitly state that they can shut you down at any time. Sorry but you don’t really hold any authority on this one…
But yes there are all kinds of government agencies to file a complaint with.
My business is a logistics company. I choose to teach online AND I run a REAL logistics company NOT on Shopify. If you had no value, you didn’t need to comment.
I teach Truck Dispatching Courses online and In person.
You can try to file a complaint with government agencies like what @Maximus3 said but it’s pretty useless as they can terminate our service at anytime. Businesses like Squareup don’t even give you a reason why and they shut your site right down not just payments.
It sucks, i know but have you tried other payment services like Paypal?
I am currently using PayPal; however, I am interested in restoring Shopify Payments because I utilize Shopify Capital and many of my customers rely on the payment installment options.
