I have three products but my product numbers go up to #0007. what maps products to product numbers?

If I get you right, is the product number you mentioned is order number? The order number doesn’t depend on the products, it just automatically goes up when a customer placed an order for whichever product.

no. shopify assigns a product number starting at #0001 to each product you
have. I am a newbie and my site has gone through many iterations and now
the product numbers are wrong and the highest product number is #0007
instead of #0003. I need to know what shopify is keying off of to generate
the product number so I can correct it back to 3. The reason for the
problem is because the product number was probably an add on and never
properly integrated into the program.
