I’m posting here in hopes of getting visibility and help with an issue that has now been open with Shopify support for over three months.
This has already been confirmed by Shopify Technical Support as a platform bug, not a configuration or user error. However, despite multiple follow-ups, I continue to receive general responses that it is “being worked on,” with no meaningful updates or timeline for resolution.
In the meantime, this issue is having a real and ongoing impact on our business. It affects our daily order processing workflow and has resulted in significant additional labor costs, well over $1,000 so far, and increasing every day. These are costs we cannot recover.
I was advised by Customer Support to change our internal processes as a workaround, but that is not a viable option for our operation.
While the issue itself may appear minor in isolation, it impacts every order we ship, making it a critical problem for us.
At this point, I’m not looking to troubleshoot settings; this has already been identified as a platform-level issue. I’m trying to understand how to:
Get proper visibility from the technical team
Receive meaningful status updates
Help move this toward an actual resolution
If anyone has experience escalating a confirmed platform bug or can advise on how to get this in front of the appropriate team, I would greatly appreciate it.
What is your issue anyway? And to answer your question you should post this on the dev community, community where actual Shopify staffs will know about your issue.
There really is no reliable way to expedite fixing your problem.
Especially “Receive meaningful status updates”
Being on Plus/Enterprise and having a Success manager and real SLA could help, but …
Posting at community.shopify.dev may be helpful to get visibility;
posting at Shopify social media channels, like https://x.com/ShopifySupport was mentioned as a possible way to speed things up…
Also, explaining the actual problem should a) help fellow seller who may have the same and b) may actually result in a usable workaround…
When a bug is acknowledged but stalls in support, the best path is escalating via your Shopify Plus/Partner contact, if you have one, or reopening the ticket with a combined impact report (cost, number of orders affected, screenshots, timestamps). Tie each follow-up to business impact, and ask for a case owner to be responsible for the case.
No one externally can help you with an INTERNAL platform problem it’s not magic to complain on a forum.
Especially when you vague post like other people are mind readers so you don’t actually bother to explain what the problem is.
If this is how you go about trying to fix issues your gonna keep having problems.
Fix that first.
