I may have been a fraud victim as a shopper on Shopify. The link to get support as a customer requires I past in the order confirmation URL, but that doesn’t seem to work and I have no other options. I joined as a potential seller to see if I could get a hold of support, but the options available to me seem circular, just looping back to the same page.
please, how can I get a link or email address to someone at Shopify who can help me?
Thanks,
Hi @chigiabelo
To contact support, please follow the instructions below
-
Click this link, Contact Shopify Support, and log in to your store.
-
You should be routed to the page like the image below.
- Then select Starting Store. This will open another page like below.
- Scroll down and you should see the options to contact Shopify Support.
My problem is those 4 options you have on the bottom don’t exist for me, All I get is
which takes me to the previous page
Hi there, @chigiabelo .
I understand that you purchased from a store online and tried to report an issue with an order however, you’re unable to enter the order confirmation URL. Could you share what happens when you attempt to fill out the form and enter the order confirmation URL?
While it’s possible that the store you bought from may leverage Shopify services, each store on Shopify is its own business and operates individually. Shopify can’t access order information or another business’ bank account to issue a refund or force shipping. That being said, there are still some steps available to you.
If you’ve made attempts to contact the merchant directly and are unable to submit the order confirmation URL, the next best course of action is to contact your bank/payment provider directly. This is because most banks have built-in security measures to protect you as a buyer and they will be able to provide you with the appropriate next steps. Your bank/credit card provider will truly be in the best position to help provide you with further options regarding your payment and possible refund options.
I want to emphasize that we absolutely do not condone any type of fraudulent activity on Shopify. If this does happen to be a Shopify store, filing a claim with your bank will trigger a notification internally at Shopify. We can use this information to investigate a store as needed. We will take a look into the stores’ activity and take action where appropriate. For legal and privacy reasons we will not be able to share the results of this investigation with you. Our team will take a look and proceed with an investigation if it is determined to be necessary. If an investigation is needed, again for legal and privacy reasons we will not be able to share the results of any investigation with you.

Hi, I am having the same issue. I placed an order on February 4th 2024. I have not received the order. I have not received responses to my direct emails to the store. I can’t report the issue because when I click on “View your order” as directed, it takes me to a dead link. When I copy and paste the address from that it says it’s invalid. I’m stuck. Are you able to help?
Good luck with trying to contact Shopify regarding Fraud issues via phone or online help. They make it next to impossible. Horrific customer service online, as usual, and no phone number. They must not care about security. Once you find a page to report it, IF YOU DO, The form you fill out has so many glitches that it makes it impossible to submit. Great work SHOPIFY for helping out paying subscription customers. Dont bother telling me the steps on how to do it because it doesnt work. If you want to help, give me a standard email address to report it.
