We are transitioning from POSIM to SHopify for our in store POS. The Ipad and scanner can read the shop specific barcodes we have that are listed as our sku, but they don’t show it as a recognized item to sell. WHen we put our sku into the barcode space it will read it. We sometimes pull things up by the UPC but our SKU’s are often what is on invoice from our supplier along with other numbers and letters that help us track down that item. Rarely are we entering UPC during the purchase order process and generally add that later. When we have dropped our items into the SHopify products database we entered it into sku column assuming it would read either sku or barcode, BUT it doesn’t and now all the things we dropped in (1000’s of items) are missing barcodes even though they have our barcodes on them with our sku. If we type in the sku for that item it comes up, but impractical at the register to manually type in every item sku to bring up that item.
Is there an ap or something that will us to scan our barcode label with the sku listed and bring up our item to sell?
