How do I integrate a new payment gateway in Shopify?

Topic summary

  • Main issue: A merchant needs to connect a country‑specific payment gateway to a Shopify store and cannot find where to enable a custom gateway in the Payments settings.

  • Proposed guidance: A reply explains how to add a “custom payment method” by navigating to Settings > Payments > Payment providers > Create a custom payment method, then adding a name and buyer instructions, and activating it. Screenshots illustrate the navigation and fields.

  • Clarification: The original poster says this does not solve the requirement. They have an API from their country’s gateway and want to integrate Shopify checkout so payments are processed through that gateway’s API. A checkout screenshot is attached to show the desired integration context.

  • Status: No instructions for API‑level payment gateway integration were provided in the thread. The query about enabling a country‑specific gateway via an API within Shopify remains unresolved and open.

Greetings.

I am currently working on a project and I need to integrate client Shopify store with my country-specific Payment Gateway.

I just don’t know where to access this feature in Shopify.
I just want to know where can I enable Custom Payment Gateway on the Shopify side?
In Shopify, I click on the payments tab. But this page opens. I can’t find any other section for custom gateway integration.

Hi @blackkendxuda ,

Step 1: Click on Payment providers

Step 2: Choose to Create a custom payment method

Step 3: Add the name and instructions

Step 4: Activate the custom payment method

I hope this helps you.

Greetings Dear AvadaCommerce.

Thanks for you answer. But this information not the solution I was looking for.

I want to add my country’s own Payment Gateway to Shopify and process my payments through it. I was given an API by Gateway. I want to integrate Shopify with Payment Gateway API.
