How do I merge two existing stores while keeping some inventory separate?

With TradeGecko sunsetting in June 2022, we are looking to either switch all inventory management to Shopify or find a useful app to replace TradeGecko.

We have two businesses owned by the same entrepreneur: Business A and Business B:

• Business A sells exclusively online = one sales channel.

• Business A does not sell Business B products.

• Business B has two physical locations and three sales channels: one at each physical location, and one online.

• Business B does sell Business A products.
  The perfect resolution or app would:

We need to be able to transfer stock from A to B and keep inventory separate in both B physical locations. We don’t want inventory automatically pulling from other stock locations as one of the physical locations is in a different part of Canada and one business does not sell the others’ products.

A) Is there a way to merge both businesses and keep inventory/customers separate or,
B) Is there an app you can suggest to replace TradeGecko? - I did have a suggestion from someone at Shopify last year but the app they recommended doesn’t seem to be available in the store any longer.

Hey @MHA if you’re opting out of now Quickbooks Commerce, you should check out SKUSavvy which is a Shopify WMS that will enable you to manage various inventory levels across different locations, while keeping one central catalog. SKUSavvy has nearly everything Tradegecko would have as a true WMS. So, you’ll be able to maintain bin locations and separate orders to each warehouse location, then create batches of orders to visually pick-pack-ship and print labels.

Though the second store connection is a premium feature, it’s likely this would solve your inventory challenges, and enable you to streamline fulfillment through both stores. If you want to have a demo set up please reach out and we can set something up to go through the particulars of your store.
