How do I prevent customers from using Emojis in their name

Hi there,

We have an issue on the website where customers will have an emoji in their name or in their address. When these orders are pushed into Shopify, they’re fine, but our inventory management system doesn’t allow orders with emojis in their system, which prevents those orders from being processed.

Is there anything we can do to prevent this on Shopify?

We’re having the exact same problem! Anything older than a couple years old simply cannot handle emojis. I can’t understand why Shopify allows them as it jacks up everything downstream.

Unfortunately I have not.

Although I believe this should be native in Shopify, we solved the issue using this app. It’s not very expensive and works great. It handles a LOT of other shipping address issues like PO Boxes, Emojis, Military Addresses, etc. Worth the money IMO!
