How do I remove the black overlay on the slideshow image in Brooklyn theme

Has anybody successfully disabled the dark overlay the Brooklyn theme automatically places over the slideshow? Can you please share how you have done it?

Hey there,

Yes you can easily remove it.

From your Shopify back-end, go to:

  • Online Store >> Themes.
  • Next to your theme name, click on “Customize”.
  • On next window, click “Slideshow” section.
  • Select the slide where you don’t want to display overlay.
  • Decrease “Overlay opacity” to 0 and save!

Hey, this solution does not work on the “Ride” theme. Even at 0 opacity there’s still a large black box in the middle of my images.

did you fix it? I am trying to remove the box aswell

Thank you - I didn’t know this setting was available and I tried so many code snippets that failed but this removed the dark overlay from my hero image.
