How do I remove the top announcement bar and resize my image banner?

Hi,

There is a top announcement bar on my page that I can’t get rid of (see red ‘x’ at the very top of the screen inset below). Can you help me? I use the Dawn Theme.

Also, the width of my image banner is sooo large. how do I reduce the size? View my site here:

Yes for announcement bar you can edit code of header.liquid to fix it and for image banner it needs css to reduce size.

@cocomo - please add this css to the very end of your base.css file and check… you may also have an option to disable it in the header section in your customize settings

Hi @cocomo ,

I understand that you want to remove the top of the anouncement bar.

Try this.

  1. From your Shopify admin dashboard, click on “Online Store” and then “Themes”.
  2. Find the theme that you want to edit and click on “Actions” and then “Edit code”.
  3. In the “Assets” folder, click on “theme.scss.liquid, styles.scss.liquid or base.css” file, depending on which file your theme uses to store its CSS styles. At the bottom of the file, add the following CSS code:
  4. And Save.

Please add this css in your bottom of the base.css file:

#shopify-section-announcement-bar {display: none !important;}

And the banner image i see it’s showing perfect size as per your original image.
