To activate customer accounts, simply tick the “Show login link in storefront and checkout”. This option makes creating an account optional.
If you also tick “Require all customers to log in before checkout”, it will make it required.
Seems that Shopify has updated these options for Shopify Plus and development stores. You probably want to be using Classic Accounts and “Show login link on storefront and checkout”.
As the name suggested, it takes a passwordless approach (powered by OTP verification), and can let any of your customers access their order history and make repeat order, regardless if they have an account - or if they are login.
Looks like this has been answered, but we just posted a video on YouTube if anyone prefers to see a visual walkthrough on how to enable customer accounts (with the new customer account settings)
That means if I am using “Shopify” Plan (Not Plus), I can’t set accounts to optional or required?
The problem I am facing is that, the new customers that log into my shopify store are automatically set to disabled. I want to set them to enable by default. Is there a solution for this?
Because I can’t see this feature of setting accounts to optional or required in my shopify store
