How do I set up Google Tag Manager without coding knowledge?

I’m not a person really to understand all this coding stuff.

Google Tag Manager says about inserting two separate codes into each individual page’s and
Where in the world do you even find this, and i have like…15+ pages!

anyone can help me?

Hi, @UnfoundGroup ,

Hyde here from Shopify.

Funnily enough, I addressed this very question in a similar forum post right here.

Have a read of that and if you have any other questions, please let me know!

All the best, Hyde.

Hi

You can follow this basic Google Tag Manager tutorial to solve your issue.

Hope it helps!

While this guide may be completely accurate for other platforms, it is worth noting that Google Tag Manager is available only to Shopify stores on the Shopify Plus plan. You can, however, use Google Analytics by adding Javascript code to the Additional Google Analytics Javascript section in your store by going to Online Store > Preferences. There’s more on this here.

So for future reference, merchants on the regular pricing plans cannot follow that guide and may even find it confusing. I hope this information helps.

All the best, Hyde.

I added the google tag manger code according to your description, but I encountered a problem, after I deployed the code, in preview mode, all events on the checkout process page are not triggered, but all events on other pages are normal, can you tell me where the problem is? I look forward to your reply, have a nice life, thank you!

Hi @DD011 ,

As mentioned previously, Google Tag Manager is available only to Shopify stores on the Shopify Plus plan! So you may have added the code but it won’t work.

Have you tried adding Google Analytics as described in the accepted solution in this thread?

Hi, I followed your method and set it up, google analytics can receive events related to checkout, but the data is not sent through GTM, because I can’t see the event push in GTM preview, there is a conflict between the parameters of google data and my custom GTM variable values.thanks!

As mentioned previously, GTM (Google Tag Manager) would only be available to stores on the Shopify Plus plan which is why data is not sent to your GTM.

I hope this clarifies the matter!
