I have a store running with a custom theme, but would like to build a new design in the background using a different standard theme. The reason I’m developing the new store is because we are going to expand into several new product categories (so, new collections). I added these new products and collections, but in order to see them in my development theme I have to turn them on, which makes them visible on the live site, which I do not want because they are not ready for sale yet. Is there a combination of settings somehow to make them active in the test theme without appearing in the live theme?
I appreciate any help!!!
(I posted this a few weeks ago and got zero replies - hoping you can help.)
Thanks for the reply. So is there any way to lay out a new collection and see what it looks like in a new theme without it appearing live?
I tried to set up a partner account and build it there, but shopify won’t let me export all my pictures and files from my existing live site to use on the development site (which stinks).
If I turn on the new products so they display then they also display in my current live theme. I can not do this. Those products are not yet in production.
That is my question…
Is there a way to show the new products in the test theme with out them appearing in the live theme?
