How do I start developing my first app with JavaScript?

Hi there,

I’m developing a shopify app. My idea is connect the Shopify API to a third party app using hooks. Everytime a sale is made I would like an event triggered. The app would be written in javascript.
I have looked at the following documentation here: https://shopify.dev/docs/apps/store/requirements, however I’m still unsure as to the app setup, requirements and configuration.

Please would anyone guide me in the first steps to creating a shopify app e.g. first steps, advice etc - I would be really grateful for your response(s).

If not, I would still look on YouTube to find others that create quick apps so you get an idea of how to get started.
