I’m in a trial domain right now, but I want to get rid of that domain. How do I do it?
Hey @BrunoBessa ,
Congratulations on taking the first step by opening a trial account! Your store is automatically hosted under the URL ending in .myshopify.com which can’t be removed or transferred because you use your original .myshopify.com domain name to log in to your Shopify admin and identify your account when you contact Shopify Support.
Did you connect your third party domain to Shopify while operating under a trial? If you don’t plan on continuing with the trial, it’s important to delete the domain from the admin to prevent any potential issues moving forward. There is no additional fee to connect a domain you already own.
To remove your third-party domain follow the instructions listed here. Remember, if the third-party domain is your primary domain, then you need to change your primary domain before you can remove the domain.
If you have a Shopify-managed domain and you no longer want to use it with your Shopify store, then you can transfer your domain to another Shopify store or domain provider. If you’re planning to deactivate your Shopify store and you want to keep using your Shopify-managed domain, then you need to transfer your domain before you deactivate your store.
Since you are new to the platform I definitely recommend you use our launch checklist to work through each necessary step to get your store up and ready to sell. This will ensure you make the most out of your trial!
Let me know if I can clarify anything further!
Hey, the domain I’m talking about is not a myshopify.com, it’s just a
“.com” domain.
No worries, did you purchase the domain through Shopify or a third party? If you have a Shopify-managed domain and you no longer want to use it, then you can transfer your domain to another Shopify store or domain provider. To remove a third-party domain follow the instructions listed here.
