How do I upgrade to the latest version of Google Analytics?

Dear Sir,

I’m a beginner for shopify. While i try to work on the google analytics, the following text says i need to upgrade my Google Analytics.

"

Enhanced Ecommerce

You must upgrade to the latest version of Google Analytics in order to use Enhanced Ecommerce."

Can anyone guide me how to upgrade my Google Analytics?

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern, I’d be happy to help.

You mentioned that you are working on setting up your Google Analytics. How far along the setup process are you? We have a great guide on our Shopify Help Center here that goes over all of the necessary steps to set this up.

It also seems that you need to update to the latest version of your Google analytics in order to use Enhanced Commerce. Here are the steps on how to do so:

  • Sign in to Google Analytics. From the Admin page, select the account and property you want to upgrade.
  • Head over to the property column and click Universal Analytics Upgrade.
  • In the section called Transfer to Universal Analytics, click Transfer.

Following this, you may need to wait two days for the account transfer to be completed. Rest assured, there are many great resources online that will help you along the way if you run into any issues.

I’m starting out new for an Online business currently focusing on Home DIY/ Kitchen Accessories as a Start.


I’m a little worried now if my Retails stall is already LIVE, without going thru a test on placing order and make fulfillment. Is there any video guide on this?

Can i still test if my stall is working properly?

Hi David,

I looked up your store and I think it’s LIVE. For you to confirm the payment flow, you could put your store in Test Mode and make an order.

Aside that, just put up add products to collections so your home page could be filled with products.
