I am setting up a online dropshipping store. There is no physical location for it. How do the taxes work? I have never done this before. When setting up for the first time what are some good things to know when it comes to the taxes?
Hi @Jaywoodwolf81 ,
Great question, taxes can be difficult to navigate even on the best of days!
Even if you don’t have a physical location for your store, you still might be eligible for tax liability depending on where you’re store is legally registered and based. I strongly recommend speaking to a local tax authority to find out if you’re eligible for sales tax. I can’t stress speaking to a local tax authority enough!
Shopify has a full guide on how to set up taxes for your store. It’s broken into different sections depending on location. You can see it here.
If you have any other questions, let me know. How’s the rest of your store set up going?
