As for beginner SEO steps, there are a handful of posts on this so I’m going to keep the AI tools section short.
For the AI tools, start by asking a free AI (like ChatGPT or Gemini) to list 20 keywords your customers might search for. Pick the best ones and ask the AI to write catchy page titles and descriptions for your website using those terms.
Next, use the AI to create content. Ask it what questions customers usually ask about your industry, then have it draft simple answers for a FAQ page. This helps you rank for specific problems people are trying to solve.
You do not need paid tools yet. The free versions of these AIs are sufficient, and you should also set up Google Search Console, which is a free tool that shows you exactly how people are finding you.
If you’re starting from zero, run this phased plan: Phase 1 (weeks 1–2): technical hygiene + schema + core policy pages. Phase 2 (weeks 3–4): answer-first PDP and collection copy. Phase 3 (ongoing): weekly GEO checks on non-branded prompts and prioritize fixes by conversion impact.
I’d grab 20 simple keywords with a free AI, pick the strongest ones, then use them to shape titles, descriptions, and answer common customer questions through short, helpful content.
