How do you build trust quickly on a fresh Shopify store with no reviews?

For trust, it needs time. Yes, reviews are a good part of it. Now, how to get reviews, well, depending on what you are selling, you could ask friends and family for some real reviews and offer them a special discount. But in genreal, in start, you can sacrifice some income for a reveiws, but for a while only. Like, “get %15 off if you leave a review”.
But trust goes beyond reviews. For example, I first check contact information, does it have a business name, address, phone, email from the domain, and if available, tax/vat/business registration numbers. That’s all good and better than having a Gmail email and some fake address. Next is the About us/Our story page, if it is full of AI-generated text, some words like “our mission is to bring world peace with every product we sell,” then you can imagine that is not a good trust signal. But if you add something personal, an image of you and your team, that is a plus.
If you have an Instagram account, add an Insta feed to your store. It’s a good way to add reviews from your social media account.
Do some research about trust badges as well. You can use these in different parts of your Shopify store. Here’s a great read on Trust Badges in Shopify, which you can use.
