I’m submitting a Shopify app that syncs Shopify data to QuickBooks Online (QBO). My last review was rejected with this feedback:
“We need to test the sync between Shopify and QuickBooks Online. The app requires a connection to QuickBooks Online (a paid platform), but no QuickBooks credentials were included, and the connect flow routes to a paid Intuit sign-up.”
I understand I need to provide working “QuickBooks Online” credentials so the reviewer can complete the connect flow and test the sync. The problem is the login itself:
-
Even with Intuit’s 2-step verification turned off, “QuickBooks Online” still sends a one-time verification code whenever someone logs in from a new device/browser (this appears to be a mandatory MFA layer that can’t be disabled).
-
The code goes to my phone (SMS) and email, so the reviewer can’t complete login on their own.
For those of you who’ve shipped a QuickBooks Online-connected app (or any app needing third-party paid credentials), I’d really appreciate guidance on:
How did you provide “QuickBooks Online” access to the review team given the OTP issue?
Any tips on exactly what to put in the “App review instructions / test credentials” field to avoid another rejection would be hugely helpful. Thanks!
