I am building a smart receipt/invoice organizer. Merchants can simply send receipts and invoices directly to customer app profile or customers can optionally upload the receipts themselves, and the app will read them, extract key details, and store them securely so you can easily track expenses and find information.
Customers could then ask questions in plain language, like ‘Show me all my receipts from Target’ or ‘What was my total spending on coffee last month?’, and get instant answers? How useful would that specific feature? The current channel to send receipts is via email or SMS which has the following problems
- Email: Receipts get buried among countless other emails (promotional, personal, work). Finding a specific receipt from months ago can be a nightmare of searching through a cluttered inbox. Email clients aren’t designed as financial document management systems.
- SMS: Text message threads are even worse for organization and long-term storage of important documents. They are ephemeral by nature for many users
I am considering integrating with online stores (like Shopify) and eventually physical stores, so digital receipts could be sent directly to your account in this app
I want to know how this community feels about this idea. Does this solve any customer/merchant pain points?
Appreciate your feedback/suggestions
