How do you manage customer photos & videos you get from Instagram for your Shopify store?

Hi everyone,

I work closely with Shopify stores and noticed a recurring problem around customer photos and videos (UGC).

Most of the time, customer content comes through:

  • Instagram DMs

  • WhatsApp

  • Sometimes email

I’m curious how other store owners handle this today:

  • Where do you save these photos/videos?

  • Do you track whether the customer gave permission to reuse them?

  • How do you link the content to the right product?

  • Do you actually reuse them on product pages or ads, or do they get lost?

From what I’ve seen, many stores end up with:

  • Random Google Drive folders

  • Screenshots from DMs

  • No clear permission tracking

I’m exploring a simple idea to make this process less messy and put everything in one place, and I’d love honest feedback from real store owners.

I put together a very early concept page here (not a finished product):

This is purely for learning and validation — not selling anything.

Would really appreciate hearing:

  • How you manage UGC today

  • What part of this workflow is most painful

Thanks in advance
