How does an ERP enhance or add value to the inventory management?

Context: We moving to Shopify Plus stores - several stores in various European languages that spans across 2 to 3 regions in Europe.

Some stores sells in different currency (other than EUR) with different SKU for the same products.

There is an existing ERP in place.
