How does payment work for suppliers on my online store?

Hello Everyone.

I have setup my online store on Shopify. We’re almost done and we’re just setting up our payment gateway (Payment gateways are a complicated process in Turkey).

So I’m confused on a matter, I have imported my products from the Shopify supported apps available on the panel.

Now if a customer places and order, the order goes straight to the supplier and they ship it to my customer.

I have been paid by the customer through my website, the payment will come to the payment wallet of mine.

Now my question is:

How will the supplier get paid? Do I have to talk to them (The apps I have imported the products on my store from is Zendrop and AliExpress)

Because the payment is coming to MY wallet, how will the suppliers payment be dispatched to them? Do I have to pay them externally?

Please someone explain because all of a sudden, I am confused as hell.

Your supplier won’t ship until you have paid them. You pay your supplier via your apps - Ali Express and Zendrop. Try to place a test order for yourself so you are clear about the whole workflow.

Um. So for each individual order, ill have to pay them first? There is no way that when the payment is received, the suppliers part goes directly to the suppliers?

Not to my knowledge. Normally, you have to have your credit card connected with them so they could auto-deduct, you can explore these options on their platform (Ali Express Platform). But the central idea is they get payment before shipping the product out.

Hey @Faris_Swala , congrats on getting your business ready to launch! I know there are a couple replies to your question already, but I want to make sure there is no doubt in your mind about this process.

When you are working with AliExpress suppliers, you will need to pay them for the order before they ship it. You can choose to wait for your payment from the customer to process into your account first, or you can pay out of your own pocket.

Could you tell me what apps you’re using to import and place your orders? Most apps that import products from AliEpxress will still require you to place the order on AliExpress directly, and also confirm the shipping address and contact information for the customer before submitting the order. If you tell me the app you’re using I can tell you what to expect when it comes to placing orders.

Hi. Thanks for the reply!

Yeah I used Zendrop - Global Dropshipping and DSM- AliExpress Dropshipping. That’s where I imported my products from.

If AliExpress actually requires me to place the order directly, Ill probably remove those products.

But yeah these are the two apps I’m using.

Thanks for sending that info! It looks like both of those apps do provide fulfillment services so you will not have to manually fulfill any orders on AliExpress. I suggest contacting the support team for each app to make sure you have the correct settings in place for orders to be fulfilled before you launch your store.

Hi @Faris_Swala AutoDS streamlines the order and payment process by automatically placing orders and paying suppliers once you approve them.

This reduces manual work and the risk of mistakes, while syncing tracking info and updating your store automatically; unlike apps like Zendrop, where payments are handled separately and manually.

If you want to explore how AutoDS can simplify this process, there’s a 14-day trial for just $1 where you can test all features without commitment.
