We already have our shopify store, but we want to do a pop-up (just one day event), and we want to sell our products in the same event. We will have the stock there, and we need to set up inventory in the “POS”, so customers can pay there and take their products. What we need to know is how customers can pay there? Do we need a dataphone or they can pay directly from the app? Is the stock automatically updated?

Thank you for your post. I’d be happy to tell you more about Shopify’s Point of Sale (POS) system, and how you can use it at your pop-up.
I would first recommend checking out this help document as it has all the details about using Shopify’s POS system to sell in person:
To collect payments and process orders, you will need a device such as a smartphone or tablet. You’ll want to download our POS app, available in the Apple App store and Google Play Store, and log in.
Shopify POS syncs with Shopify to track your orders and inventory across your retail locations, online store, and other active sales channels. So to answer your question — your inventory will automatically be synced in the POS app when you log in, and when you make a sale in person using the app, the inventory is automatically updated.
With the POS app, you’ll be able to accept cash, credit card, and gift card payments. We have a great video on how to process a sale in the POS app that you can check out here:
While you can purchase a card reader from our hardware store, if you’re only going to be selling in person for one day you may just want to manually process credit card payments (which doesn’t require a card reader).
