How does warehouse location affect shipping for same SKU on multiple stores?

If we have the same product SKU listed on multiple Shopify Stores and housed in 2 or more warehouse locations which warehouse location will the product ship from once purchased from the customer?

Are there automatic settings built in based on customer location?
