How long does a scam refund take to appear in my bank account?

I purchased printer package worth of $2500 aud. the business never shipped it and it had been a week. I saw reviews from customers not receiving products for months and had to claim refunds.

The main issue was the business owner didn’t respond to my messages, emails and calls. there were a lot of customer reviews stating they didn’t receive their order for months and had to claim refunds. that’s why i had to raise dispute with my bank.

after that i sent the business owner a long message threatening him that i will contact police and consumer affairs, it was only then he showed me a billing showing refund of my purchase price. he said he has refunded the full amount.

My question is how long it will take to show into my bank account. I paid with my debit card. The ‘refund’ was made on 5th of may. My debit card was deactivated by my bank because they believed it may have been a fraud

Hi, @Jigdrel !

I’m sorry to hear that you never received your order and had trouble communicating with the seller.

It can take up to 10 business days to receive a refund. If your deactivated account has been replaced, I recommend checking in with your bank to determine whether a refund sent to the deactivated account will be routed to your new account. Otherwise, perhaps they’re able to reactivate the account to ensure that the refund goes through.
