How long does it take for a refund to post?

Good evening,

I am trying to figure out how long it takes before a refund gets posted. I purchased two wigs a while back. During that same period my card was tempered with so I called my bank and made a fraud claim. Unfortunately it affected this particular transaction. The company reached out to me after the money was redrawn from their account. I quickly made a call to my card service and made it to known that, I did authorized that particular transaction . My card company has resolved it and returned the money but its been a week and the money has not been posted into the merchants account.

The funds will be returned to them by Visa because the payout status on their end is “pending.”

The authorisation merely expires after a set amount of time because the bill of sale wasn’t presented. Although every supplier is unique, this typically takes 1-4 business days. Since these are generated by the cardholder’s supplier, Shopify is unable to cancel or reverse authorization requests. To request a release on the funds, your customer must get in touch with Visa.
