How many product pages can you have on an ecommerce site?

is there a limit for product pages

Hi, @MssRobin .

Thank you for reaching out!

There is no hard limit on the number of product pages you can have on a Shopify store. You can create as many product pages as you need to showcase your products and organize them in a way that makes sense for your business.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that having too many product pages can make it difficult for customers to navigate your store and find what they’re looking for. It’s a good idea to organize your products into categories and collections to make it easier for customers to browse and find what they need.

Please let me know if you have any further questions! I would love to learn more about your business. What type of products do you sell?

Hi @MssRobin ,

I am not sure what you mean by product pages? If you mean products with the same product template pages then it is unlimited. But if you mean different product templates, then there is a limit. You can only create 20 JSON product templates.

thank you

@MssRobin If you just mean products , there is a softcap of 50,000 variants at which points stores are then limited to create 1,000 variants per day unless they get an exception, or are a store with a Shopify-Plus plan.

If you mean pages like the about us page, i.e. /pages/about-us , then there’s no publicly defined limit afaik .

Notes - the variant limit is basically through the CSV import and api , though doubtful anyone’s manual data entry in the product admin can surpass that. Every product even if it has no options(color, size) has at least 1 variant.

@made4Uo 20 is used as an example of templates created so far not the total.

You can have a maximum of 1000 JSON templates in your theme, across all template types

The limit was raised from 50 sometime ago.

Emily that “no hard limit” is doing a lot of work to omit important details of actual limits that merchants should be dutifully informed of when they ask for clarification.
