How many products should a new Shopify store launch with for the best results?
Start with your best sellers and make sure the product data is solid before adding more. Some stores launch with a single product and go all in on it, so the right number really depends on what you’re selling and how much you can support at launch.
Honestly it depends a lot on what you’re selling. A niche brand doing handmade or custom products can launch with 5-10 items and do fine. A general store or dropship operation probably wants at least 15-25 so your collections don’t look empty.
The thing that matters way more than the number is how ready each product actually is. Good photos from multiple angles, descriptions that answer the questions a buyer would ask, and pricing that makes sense. I’ve seen stores with 100+ products where half have placeholder photos and one-line descriptions. That looks worse than a store with 8 products that are all well done.
Start with whatever you can get launch-ready. You can always add more later. What kind of products are you planning to sell?
@sevastia44524 Hi.
It all depends on what you are selling. I have worked with one product, Shopify and stores with more than 100 products. Both were successful, and they have their own way of marketing and setting up their storefront.
You can sell anything as long as you have a proper plan. Doesn’t matter the number of products. If you are a new store, I would suggest starting with fewer products. It’s easier to manage the inventory that way.
Single products stores actually work really well if you ask me. Do some research on these types of stores, I have written a good article on single product store examplesyou can check out.
