Quick question - how often does Shopify sync with Merchant Centre when using the Google Sales Channel App by Shopify?

At least once every time you make a change in Shopify product information.

Will the update take place immediately or is there a lag? I would like to change prices for different times of the day but not sure will update quickly

That will most likely lead to a suspension. Google requires a static price. If you want to change the price frequently during the day, then Google Shopping is not something you should use, as you will get price mismatch and eventually a suspension.

Could I push the update to Google shopping directly presumably? I thought this was what Shopify was doing.

As long as there isn’t a mismatch I’m guessing it would be fine?

You can, but from experience you will encounter the same issue.

Reason: Google does not crawl your landing page all the time, by maybe once every few days. Hence why I said, variable pricing will most likely get rejected.

But, you can try and see for yourself how it goes. Experimenting is key to learning. But be warned, you may get a suspension, and once suspended its hard to get it removed.
