How often does Shopify update its Shopify merchant store Privacy Policy template?

Hi @Staff

I noticed that under the “Cookies” section of Shopify’s Privacy Policy(in the legal section of settings) it asks you to compare the cookie list to the one on Shopify’s Merchant Storefront page (I linked here for easy access https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies ), and I deleted one no longer on the list and added I think 5 new ones. However, when I went to review the wording from the list in the template and the Merchant Storefront version, I noticed some of the cookies that are the same on both lists, actually have different Function descriptions for their use. Is that because the descriptions are updated as well based on those function descriptions, or are the ones in the template just shortened purposely to make it more concise? I don’t want to copy and paste it all and find that portion is different for a reason.

Also, I see that the link to the Cookies, when scrolling all the way to the bottom, that states it was last updated April 20, 2021(which is helpful to know), but is there usually a time frame of checking on cookie updates for ex: at least 1x per year to make sure no new updated cookies or during regular reviews of Policies? Or is it updated immediately as the cookies are updated one by one throughout the year/years? I think of the example of credit card companies and how they send out yearly privacy policies after I am assuming they have discussed and added any additional information or changes that have occurred throughout the previous year.

I ask because if for example, there are any privacy updates, they come out around April, I will make a note to self to check back during that time as opposed to checking at random times throughout the year.

I find the policy templates very helpful and appreciate having them as a base to build upon. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for your help!
