How to add a “booking request” form instead of payment option

Hello!

I would like to have the option to have a “Request Booking Form” for my small catalogue of rental products on my Shopify site. I am considering a rental booking app but for this time in my business I would like customers to reach out with a booking form and request booking. I do not want to accept payment at that time through Shopify.

any rental companies have some recommendations or lived experience ?

thank you!

Hi @Forourlittlesco ,

Thank you for reaching out. That’s a great question!

Not all bookings may fit into a standard booking system or have fixed pricing. The “Request Booking Form” option allows customers to provide specific details about their booking requirements, such as special requests, custom durations, or unique circumstances. This flexibility enables the rental company to accommodate a wider range of customer needs and provide personalized solutions.

There several ways to achieve this. You can replace the Add to cart button with an email link or a contact form. This can be done by altering product page template or creating a new one. Here is a tutorial for this customization. Keep in mind before you customize a theme, it’s a good idea to make a backup copy so that you can discard your changes and start again if you need to.

If you don’t feel comfortable editing the template code yourself, you can always reach out to our Support team. Our team may be able to customise this for you if you use Shopify free theme and your store has enough complimentary design time left.

You can reach out to our Contact Us page on this link. Then log in to your store. It will allow us to verify you as the store owner securely. Once you have successfully logged in, you should be able to reach out to a Support Advisor and discuss the customisation request as there are specific customisations supported.

Otherwise, if you are using a paid third-party theme, feel free to contact the theme developer to see if they can complete this customisation for you. Also, you can post a job on the Shopify Experts Page and see what feedback and quotes you get.

Finally, ready to go solution would be an app such as this one. It has a demo, so you can get an idea of how it would look like on your website. However, there are plenty of apps in our Apps Store and you can search them here.

Let me know if any of this helps.
