How to add a CNAME record to your domain's DNS records if you bought domain through Shopify

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to set up a Google G Suite account with my domain that I purchased through Shopify but I’m running into this problem on Google: “This domain has been registered and is in the process of ownership verification.” (Link) I sent a message to Google they gave me the following instructions to create the CNAME record. They also emailed me instructions with values for the following fields to add in the new CNAME:

Create a CNAME record through your domain hosting provider:
- Label/Host: ________ (hiding this)
- Destination/Target: google.com
- Time to live (TTL): 3600 seconds / 60 minutes / 1 Hour

In Shopify, I tried to add a CNAME record in the DNS Settings but I’m only able to set the values for the fields Name and Points to. I set the Name to my domain that I purchased through Shopify and Points to to google.com.

Did I do this correctly? This is blocking me from running ads and launching my store because I don’t want to have to respond to customers with my gmail account.

Thanks!

I’m having this same issue , did you ever figure it out?
