How to add a language selector to your header?

Topic summary

Main issue: Adding a language selector (a UI control to switch site language) to the Shopify store’s header/announcement bar (the top site area for notices).

Guidance offered:

  • Follow a theme support guide to enable the language selector via Shopify’s translation settings and add translated languages (link provided to a detailed tutorial).
  • If needed, add custom code to place the language selector in the header.

Access and troubleshooting:

  • A store URL was requested to assess theme capabilities and placement.
  • The shared store link is not live and is password-protected; reviewers asked for the storefront password to proceed.

Status and next steps:

  • No implementation or final decision yet; the discussion remains open.
  • Next actions: provide the storefront password for review, confirm whether the theme supports a header language selector, and decide between using built-in settings or implementing custom code.

Notes:

  • No images, videos, or code were shared; the linked tutorial is central to understanding the suggested approach.

@Kaspars_Rokjans

If your theme does support Language selector in header, then you will need to add a custom code to add language selector to header

The store is not live yet.
