How to add a requirement shipping selection?

I changed cart drawer codes a bit, added a drop down list for guest to choose. This list, however, can be bypassed if guests choose Shopify Pay, as they will go to checkout page directly.

I want to make this drop down list a mandatory field. How to do that?

The list is not about the product, but about the shipping. Here is the background:

  • All products will be shipped to customers directly

  • Each product is associated with a location (but not shipping to the location).

Shopify support said I cannot edit the checkout page.

Hi,

Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be possible to edit the checkout page unless you are on their plus plan.

How about you hide the Shop Pay express checkout button? That is partially possible using third party apps.
