I switched from Symmetry theme to the new Dawn 2.0 theme. My store is live.
It finally dawned on me (yup, a pun) that there was no shipping calculator showing. I examined all the theme settings and sure enough, Shopify’s flagship theme is missing a shipping calculator.
I went to the tutorial by @twy to add one but the file(s) to edit within the Dawn theme do not match the ones in the tutorial. I will probably attempt to add this into cart.js or theme-editor.js or theme.liquid but I’m a bit worried about breaking something AND since the calculator is code from 2016 I’m a bit worried that it won’t work, perhaps due to Shopify changing some variable name or whathaveyou.
There’s a free app but it looks awful because it doesn’t insert into the cart flex container but puts the widget after the container. As for paid apps I have a minor moral outrage about paying for one of these if the old Shopify used to have this natively available (pre 2018, the last time my store was open).
So. Anyone out there successfully added the shipping calculator from the tutorial to Dawn? OR Have the code to add a decent calculator to Dawn? OR some other solution?

p.s. I’m also happy to actually pay someone to add this in as a one off, but my luck with Shopify Experts hasn’t been good.
