How to add 'announcement' bar on top of page - Essentials Theme

Hello, title says it all. I’d like to add a thin bar at the top of my home page that can announce various sales, announcements, etc. My previous theme had this built in but can’t find it anywhere in my new Essentials theme.

Hi @teemania

Go to Online Store, then click on Themes, and select Customize.
Navigate to the header section, then click Add section → Announcement bar.

I’m also using the essentials theme, and need to add an announcement bar. There isn’t an option when editing in ‘customize’. Please help, thank you!

‘bedesk-v7’ theme, I have edited theme.liquid but this don’t work. My judge.me reviews are not being fetched even using correct token & store domain?
