We sell pet products. As well as customer name on checkout we would like to ask for the dog name, this will allow us to use it in automated email sequences etc. Also it’s a personalisable product so it meant we guarantee collecting it from the customer. I can’t figure out how it can be done?
Ideally we would show a little box on the product page where they could input the name, if it was added in and added to cart, that would pre populated checkout, if it was missed off then it would be empty and on checkout would be a required field.

Thanks for your reply. My issue with this is that this adds the dogs name as order data, like notes on an order. I want the data being added in the customer database so I can use short codes in email campaigns Hi {customers dogs name] we hope you enjoyed your dog treats, if you behave we are sure {customer name} will buy you some more. etc

Have been looking for the exact same feature. Its unfortunate that the plans suggested are paid plans. My customers love having the mail arrive in their dog’s name with maybe c/o to the owner. Would love if the mailing could be the same format
